Protocall Communications currently sells energy to homes and businesses through door-to-door sales and telemarketing across several regions for Constellation, an Exelon company, and other leading suppliers of electricity and natural gas. When the company was formed 25 yrs ago, their main focus was providing sales and call center support for tele-communications system and their website was very outdated and hadn’t been updated to reflect Protocall’s current service offerings. In January 2013 through a competitive RFP (request for proposal) process, Aiden Marketing was selected as the winning company to provide website redesign services for Protocall Communications.

Protocall Communications had a website that didn’t give you the impression that the company was an national supplier of award winning, high performance inbound and outbound tele-marketing sales support services and direct/door-to-door sales for companies such as Constellation, Verizon, Hess and other corporate clients.  Additionally, the company requested a new fresh look that would be attractive to potential candidates as they had an aggressive recruitment goal over the next 18 months, and incorporating functionality for candidates to apply online for open sales positions in various states was a new must-have component for the new website.

We built a new, visually appealing, responsive website for Protocall Communications that encompassed a 360 degree webdesign makeover for their corporate website.  After analyzing the competitive landscape in the energy sales industry, conducting interview with members of the management and professional sales team, and working with a recruitment consultant hired by Protocall, we had a better idea of how we could help.

We started by identifying the buyer personas of and the keywords that their target audience would use in search engines which allowed us to tailor the content on the web pages to what potential employment candidates and prospective customers would be looking for online. We providing copywriting services to cut down heavy laden content pages on the old website, and our team also developed and composed new content pages as well which included our value-added photography and videography services (at no additional cost).

We built a new site structure and developed a clean, easy to read, easy to navigate interface that was also vibrant and fresh. After coding the interface, we integrated and configured a full-service online Career Center into the website that allowed candidates to view all available jobs across all states where Protocall has teams and allowed them to create full profiles, upload their resumes, and apply online. Additionally the administrative end of the online career center included the functionality for Protocall’s human resource team to manage and document the entire candidate process (from initial screening to interviewing to hiring). Easy-to-use CMS (content management system) integration also provided the functionality for the client to self-manage the website if they desired to do so themselves.

*Note: During the web development phase, we had recommended that the company move to a different hosting company that provided 24 hour support and 99% uptown, but the client decided to stay with their legacy hosting provider. After approximately 6 months after the new website we built went live, the company’s legacy web hosting company had a severe server crash and unfortunately were not maintaining backups on a separate server; therefore, all of the new website files were lost.
