The Polished Pebbles Girls Mentoring Program in Chicago has provided support to over 1500 African American and Latina girls aged 10 to 18 across 30+ schools and communities every school year. This program has effectively guided and equipped 10,000 girls and young women of color for their future careers. Furthermore, it has facilitated connections between over 600 mentors and girls in more than 125 school and community locations.
Polished Pebbles encountered a challenge in compensating for the decline in revenues caused by the expiration of pandemic grants. The primary objective for the organization was to enhance awareness and generate revenue through corporate and individual donations within the next 12 months.

The primary obstacle faced by the Authentic Bartending School of Maryland was the lack of internal resources and capacity to create and implement a comprehensive digital marketing strategy that covered all the necessary components for a successful integrated digital marketing campaign. Furthermore, their current website was built using Flash technology, which hindered their visibility in search results, limiting their desired online presence. Although the school maintained a presence on multiple social media platforms, community members were not actively interacting with the brand’s pages.
Results Achieved: After implementing these strategies, Polished Pebbles saw a significant increase in website traffic and engagement on social media platforms. The fundraising initiatives led to a substantial increase in donations from both corporate sponsors and individual donors. The organization was able to successfully raise enough funds to continue providing support and mentorship to girls in need.
Moving Forward: Polished Pebbles plans to continue building relationships with donors and expanding its network of mentors to reach even more girls in underserved communities. The organization is committed to empowering young women of color and helping them achieve their full potential.
